Description
The anchor of the Knits pillar. A worsted merino crew knit at 12-gauge by Têxtil Vale do Ave, outside Porto. The shoulder slope and armhole curve match the rest of the Knits program, so if this fits, the cashmere version in the same silhouette fits too.
The worsted merino sits between cashmere (warmer, more delicate) and wool blends (sturdier, less refined). It's the fiber to reach for when you want a sweater that wears five days a week and still looks like new in the spring.
- 12-gauge knit, fine enough to layer under a blazer
- Fully fashioned shoulder seam (the panel is knit to shape, not cut from a sheet)
- Ribbed cuffs and hem hold their shape without sagging
- Single-ply (lighter, more drape) rather than two-ply (heavier, boxier)
Pilling is minor on worsted merino but normal in the first month. A small comb handles it.
